Watersports Fun at the Lodge!
Get ready to dive into the fun and fabulous world of Pokegama Lake Lodge! With over 8,000 acres of the Fence Lake Chain waiting for you, there’s endless space for adventure on the water.
Whether you’re gliding silently in a canoe, zooming around on a pontoon with your favorite crew, or casting your line for some fishing magic, the lake is packed with awesome moments just waiting to be made!
Notice: No lifeguard on duty at any time, swim at your own risk, and watch your kids!
Watersports at the Lodge
At our lakefront lodge, we believe that splashing around on the lake is the secret sauce to a perfect vacation for your group or family! That’s why we’ve got all sorts of boats and fun watersport activities just waiting for you to ride, sail, or simply float along the sparkling, crystal-clear waters of Pokegama Lake!
Lodge guests are encouraged to enjoy our many non-motorized watercraft to explore our waterfront. Stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, and sail boats are available free for guests.
The appeal of water activities is universally recognized, particularly in serene settings such as Pokegama Lake, renowned for its safety and natural beauty. However, please note that there is no Lifeguard on Duty at any time. We encourage visitors to swim within their personal limits and to supervise children as they engage in water activities.
Swimming
In the warm summer months, the swimming and boating areas become the heart of our resort! Families come together to every year to splash around in Pokegama’s crystal clear waters.
Our Lodge guests are often seen playing and diving off our swimming raft, enjoy being lazy on some inflatable toys, cozying up by the lakeside campfire to get warm, or just enjoying sitting lakeside having an adult beverage or two while watching the kids!
Canoeing
Long ago, fur traders enjoyed paddling their canoes through the beautiful lakes and rivers in this area. Today, canoeing remains one of the most enjoyable ways to spend some peaceful time on the water, by yourself or with a partner.
You might spot a bass watching over its nest in the spring, a Bald Eagle grabbing a fish out of the lake, or even a curious mink on the hunt for dinner along the shoreline, canoeing is a great way to the beauty of being in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.
Kayaking
Kayaks, believed to have originated from Greenland and also from the Inuit people in the far Northern parts of Alaska, are a fantastic way to explore the beautiful bays and charming islands of Lake Pokegama!
Kayaking is done is done sitting down the entire time, so often can be a little easier on the back, as long as you can climb in ok. It’s the perfect way to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul as you effortlessly paddle around enjoying the scenery.
Paddle Boarding
Stand up Paddle boards (SUP) are a blast for exploring! Loved by fitness enthusiasts, they’re considered one of the best ways to give your core a good workout.
SUP boarding not only keeps you fit but also lets you soak in the stunning views of Lake Pokegama. With your upright position, you can easily gaze into the water and spot fish and intriguing underwater features that kayakers and canoeists might miss. Come try one out today and give it a try!
Boating Water Sports
Whether you’re at the Lodge for an exciting fishing adventure, a corporate or group retreat, or enjoying a relaxing family getaway, why not take a break to strap on some skis or a board and try some boating water sports!
You can enjoy boat towing watersports on Lake Pokegama from 8am to 8pm, and after that, it’s quiet time for the fishermen. So, let’s be sure to follow the local rules for a wonderful and enjoyable experience!
Sailing
Lake Pokegama’s beautiful, clear waters and warm summer breezes are just perfect for some enjoyable sailing! Feel the gentle sounds of the lake as the wind happily guides you across the water.
Join us and discover the joys of sailing on a Sunfish or Minifish – they’re great boats for learning and picking up the basics. We absolutely love introducing new sailors to this wonderful sport!
